Authenticity Scorecard™

Where Rhetoric Meets Reality

The Authenticity Scorecard™ is the cornerstone of the Court of the Republic’s mission to provide "digital civic infrastructure" by objectively measuring the gap between political rhetoric and governmental reality. It functions as a clear, evidence-based explainer that translates complex government data into an intuitive accountability tool for the general public.

How the Scorecard Functions

The scorecard simplifies the "Transparency Crisis" by taking the following steps:

Translates Complexity: It converts dense legislative proceedings and roll-call votes into plain-language summaries and a single, understandable grade.

Centralizes Data: It serves as a single, non-partisan platform that aggregates information scattered across multiple .gov websites, making it actionable for the 85% of Americans who cannot currently name their representatives' key votes.

Visualizes Progress: By using a standardized grading scale, it provides an immediate visual representation of how close an elected official is to fulfilling a specific commitment.

The Verification Methodology

Every grade is generated by a non-partisan algorithmic scoring system that weights four key areas of official evidence:

Legislative Action (40%): Tracking of bill sponsorship, co-sponsorship, and voting patterns.

Executive Action (30%): Monitoring the Federal Register for regulatory changes and executive orders.

Budgetary Evidence (20%): Analyzing the President's Budget and actual obligations tracked via USAspending.gov.

Public Advocacy (10%): Reviewing floor statements in the Congressional Record and other official documentation.

Objective Grading Scale

The scorecard uses a professional grading system to provide clarity on a representative's performance:

A (90–100%): Fully Implemented. The promise is complete with documented evidence.

B (80–89%): Substantial Progress. There is a clear implementation timeline in place.

C (70–79%): Partial Fulfillment. The legislative or executive process is currently ongoing.

D (60–69%): Minimal Action. There is limited evidence of effort toward the commitment.

F (0–59%): No Action. No steps have been taken, or the representative has taken contrary actions.

By exclusively sourcing data from official .gov APIs—including Congress.gov, WhiteHouse.gov, and the Federal Register—the Authenticity Scorecard ensures that it is backed by unparalleled accuracy and integrity.
